Michael Butler

President

Mike is a Global HR Executive and International Expansion Specialist with over 30 years of experience in the UK, Europe and USA. 

He has worked with organisations including Disney, United Airlines and Jones Lang LaSalle, helping them to navigate the complexities of global HR strategy, compliance and operational risk management. He has also worked with US high tech companies setting up payroll, employment documentation and benefits structures in over 25 countries.

Currently Mike advises US companies on establishing remote Sales and IT teams outside the US, ensuring compliance with international employment laws, corporate regulations and mitigating permanent establishment risks.

Mike holds CIPD (UK), GPHR (US), and SHRM-SCP (US) certifications, along with an MBA. He has served on SHRM’s global expertise panel and developed exam content for Global HR certifications.

In addition, Mike teaches students on international business and expansion and is the Co-Vice President of the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce.

Shah Karim

Vice-President

Shah is a Legal, Financial and Investment Adviser with over 20 years of experience establishing and operating businesses across the UK and USA.

He has demonstrated leadership in governance, risk management and strategic growth through his US & UK based companies engaged in investment management, international trade, technology, real estate and construction.

With a global perspective shaped by living in Australia, the UK and the USA, Shah serves clients in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Kuwait and the UAE.

Shah holds an LLM in Commercial Law and an LLB in Law from the University of Birmingham and University of Leicester and has passed the New York Law NYLC/NYLE under the New York State Bar Association.

In addition, Shah is a financial adviser (CeMAP), US Fund Manager and Co-Vice-President of the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce, advancing transatlantic business collaboration and investment opportunities.
